Having certification, of course, is an added value for lecturers. The official acknowledgment of the competencies possessed will provide guarantees, that individuals or organizations have advantages over others. To do this, Undiksha’s Certiport Authorized Test Center (CATC) held an activity “Socialization of the Competency Certification Programme which was carried out online, on Thursday (19/5/2022). The socialization of the competency certification programme was attended by hundreds of participants from among students, alumni, and lecturers, also attended by the Deputy Dean I of the Faculty of Engineering and Vocational, as well as officially opening the socialization event.
This activity is a collaboration between the Undiksha Certiport Authorized Test Center (CATC) and the International Test Center (ITC) Indonesia by presenting Mr. Benyamin Go as Programme Manager of Education Development – ITC.
Benyamin explained that having competency certification can have a good impact in the world of work. “There are still many who are unfamiliar with competency certification, even though it can be used as evidence that someone is said to be competent in a certain field. This has a good impact on students and alumni when they are in the world of work later. Then for lecturers, it is very useful for the development of knowledge and competence in which the ownership of a competency certificate is one of the Main Performance Indicators (Indikator Kinerja Utama or IKU 4) that must be met by universities,” said Benyamin as a resource person.
Meanwhile, I Gede Bendesa Subawa, S.Pd., M.Kom (Chairman of CATC Undiksha) said that with this socialization, it is hoped that the entire academic community and alumni will know or understand competency certification. In the future, it is hoped that lecturers, students, and alumni will be able to take part in competency certification and at least have 1 competency certificate.
The activity plans that that the Undiksha CATC can facilitate all lecturers, students, and alumni in carrying out competency certification programmes, especially products from Certiport such as Microsoft, Adobe, and Digital Literacy (IC3). (ap)
