In this modern era, one of the supporting elements in improving personal branding is a website. It is possible to have a personal website to make people’s profiles look more professional. Therefore, the Informatics Education Study Programme held a personal website socialization by inviting all students, and lecturers within the Informatics Education Study Programme through the zoom platform, on Saturday (30/22).
This socialization activity was attended by the Coordinator of the Informatics Education Study Programme to give a welcoming speech and officially open the socialization activity.
Dr. Phil. Dessy Seri Wahyuni, S.Kom., M.Eng. as the Coordinator of the Informatics Education Study Programme said that the personal website socialization activity is very important for all Informatics Education students, especially the personal website is one of the forerunners to the development of student personal branding in the future. “The students of Informatics Education are qualified, many works have been developed by them and are useful for the community. Therefore, Informatics Education students need to create a personal website as a way to introduce their work. In addition, this personal website will also build students’ brandings. So students’ achievements and work during colleges such as participating in internships, developing systems, games, applications, UI/UX, and others can be published on a personal website so that in the future after graduating from college students already have a portfolio that can be shown to the company where they apply for a job. It will be very useful later,” said Dessy Seri Wahyuni.
This socialization activity presented a speaker, namely, I Ketut Andika Pradnyana, S.Pd., M.Pd (Lecturer of Informatics Education, Undiksha), that is experienced in the field of personal branding.
As stated by Andika Pradnyana regarding personal branding, everyone has their advantages, depending on how to package those advantages so that they can be accepted by the general public. “Personal branding is a way of communicating to explain your uniqueness. But to build a personal brand, of course, you have to publish things that portray yourself. You have to be selective in choosing which content is suitable for public consumption and which is not. There are many ways we can do to explain who we are, what we do, and how we do it,” said Andika Pradnyana.
This socialization itself was attended by 150 participants through the zoom platform. Meanwhile 80 participants followed from the Informatics Education Undiksha YouTube platform. (AP)
