The Informatics Education Study Program at Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha successfully held an Outdoor Learning activity titled “Workshop on Innovative Learning Design Development and Fun Ice-breaking” on December 10, 11, 13, and 14, 2024. This activity was a collaboration between Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) and SMK Negeri Bali Mandara. The workshop was part of a course taught by Dr. phil. Dessy Seri Wahyuni, S.Kom., M.Eng., and Nyoman Indhi Wiradika, M.Pd., aimed at enriching students’ knowledge in designing innovative and engaging learning experiences.
The event took place at two different locations. On December 10 and 11, the workshop was held in the Hall of SMK Negeri Bali Mandara, Jl. Raya Air Sanih, Kubutambahan, Buleleng Regency, Bali. Meanwhile, the sessions on December 13 and 14 were conducted at Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha, specifically in the former PTI Study Program Room, Machine Building, Udayana Campus, Singaraja.
This workshop featured various exciting topics each day. On December 10, participants explored Student-Centered Learning Design, focusing on creating learning experiences tailored to students’ needs and engagement. On December 11, they delved into Innovative Learning Scenarios, including the integration of Pancasila Student Profile values, History and Ethics Education, and differentiated learning strategies.
On December 12, the session Building a Classroom Atmosphere with Fun Ice-breaking aimed to create a more interactive and enjoyable learning environment. The workshop concluded with hands-on practice sessions on December 13 and 14, where participants applied the fun ice-breaking techniques they had learned.
This activity aligns with Goal 4 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which is Quality Education. The workshop was designed to enhance the competencies of future educators in creating inclusive, student-centered learning experiences oriented toward developing 21st-century skills.
“This workshop provides real-world experience for students to design and implement effective learning strategies. We want them to create a classroom atmosphere that fosters active student engagement while integrating quality education values,” said Dr. phil. Dessy Seri Wahyuni, S.Kom., M.Eng., one of the course instructors.
The event was also attended by Ni Made Ayu Gunung Rinjani, S.Pd., M.Pd., Vice Principal of SMK Negeri Bali Mandara, who provided guidance and inspiration to the participants. With the conclusion of the workshop on December 14, 2024, participants are expected to apply the knowledge and skills they gained to create more effective, enjoyable, and meaningful learning experiences.
