Singaraja – So far, students of Informatics Education (Mahapati) have achieved various achievements in the academic field. But this time, a Mahapati obtained an achievement from the field of sports that is no less proud, namely the Bali Championship. The Bali Championship II in 2022 is the biggest Pencak Silat open tournament and the biggest achievement in Bali. The National Championship which was held from Tuesday – Thursday (5 – 7) July 2022 at GOR Praja Raksaka, Kodam IX Udayana, Denpasar, Bali was attended by students from various regions in Indonesia.
In the event, a Mahapati on behalf of Ida Bagus Putu Surya Adiwiyasa won first place in the Men’s F class. He explained that participating in this event required a fair preparation for 2 months. “I personally attended intensive training in Gianyar district with other Gianyar silat athletes. Intensive training is divided into 2 types of exercise, namely physical exercise, and technical training. In addition, in the Student Activity Unit (Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa or UKM) of Pencak Silat Undiksha I also regularly hold sparring in the team to improve the quality of athletes,” as he said when contacted via WA.
With maximum preparation, this student who is often called Gustu is very ready to take part in the competition. Not only that, Gustu and the team from the UKM Pencak Silat Undiksha team sent 12 athletes and won 12 medals. Carrying the mission of prioritizing quality over quantity, Gustu and the UKM Pencak Silat Undiksha team became the 2nd overall champion in this championship. Obtaining this award is certainly a source of pride for Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha, especially the Informatics Education Study Program.
Gustu hopes that the achievements that have been achieved will not dampen the struggle of the team and friends at the UKM Pencak Silat. “I hope the UKM Pencak Silat Undiksha can continue to take part in national and international competitions like this again. Although in yesterday’s competition we had a few obstacles, they did not make us discouraged to continue to excel in bringing the name of Undiksha to life,” added Gustu, who also serves as Secretary at UKM Pencak Silat.
Mahapati’s achievements were welcomed by the Coordinator of the Informatics Education Study Program, Dr. Phil. Dessy Seri Wahyuni, S.Kom., M.Eng., together with the entire extended family of the Informatics Education Study Program. They greatly appreciate the achievements that have been achieved by students. She hopes that in the future, the achievements of Informatics Education students can continue to increase, both at the regional, national, and even international levels. (an)
