Yogjakarta – Another achievement at the international level has been achieved by one student of the Undiksha Informatics Education (Mahapati). This time it came from the “World Youth Invention and Innovation Awards (WYIIA) event which took place at the State Islamic University of Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta on 22-26 August 2022.
In this international competition event, students on behalf of Putu Dimas Pramudita submitted an innovative work entitled “AR SUBAK.” A unique work that elevates Balinese culture received a Gold Medal and an IYSA Special Award. Dimas said that in participating in this competition event, he had been well prepared. “In participating in this event, my team and I prepared well. The assistance of our supervisors make us ready to compete,” said this 3rd-semester student. “We came to Yogyakarta in addition to participating in the competition, we also introduced the culture and traditions of Bali, one of which is Subak. With AR Subak technology, we are trying to introduce the Subak tradition with a combination of the latest technology and this has received appreciation from the judges and other participants,” he explained.
The AR Subak is a modern technology that aims to introduce the Subak museum to visitors. Dr. Ketut Agustini, S.Si., M.Si as the supervisor and initiator of AR Subak explained that with this technology, visitors will get information about several museum collections from the narrator with a three-dimensional display via cell phone after scanning the QR code or barcode. “We want one of these technology trends to provide an interesting visiting experience for visitors,” said Ketut Agustini (26/8/22).
As an academic, Dr. Ketut Agustini, S.Si., M.Si., who is also the Deputy Dean I of FTK (Faculty of Engineering and Vocational), said that AR Subak also has an educational side for students, especially students who get basic Computer and Network materials. “In AR Subak, the Subak Analogy Video menu has been developed as material for students. In the material, it is explained that the Subak flow from upstream to downstream has the same concept as the basic computer and network material. So that it is not only a promotion of the Subak museum but also as education for students so that they get meaningful learning,” she explained. (an)
