Singaraja, 4 June 2024 – In an effort to strengthen and clarify the scientific direction of the Informatics Engineering Education Study Program, the Engineering and Vocational Faculty held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with the theme “Formulating a Scientific Vision for the Informatics Engineering Education Study Program”. The event which took place on June 4 2024 was attended by all Informatics Engineering Education lecturer staff.
This FGD activity was opened by the Head of the Informatics Engineering Education Study Program, Dr. phil.Dessy Seri Wahyuni, S.Kom., M.Eng. who conveyed the importance of formulating a clear and focused scientific vision for the Informatics Engineering Education Study Program. In his speech, he emphasized that the vision formulated must be able to answer the challenges of the times and the needs of the industrial world, and remain in line with academic values and local excellence.
“The formulation of this vision is not just a formality, but is the main foundation that will direct our steps forward in producing graduates who are competent and ready to compete on the national and international stage,” said Dr. Dessy.
The FGD participants were divided into several small groups according to their field of scientific concentration to discuss various aspects that should be included in this scientific vision.The results of this FGD will be the basis for the Informatics Engineering Education Study Program curriculum team in formulating a new scientific vision, which is expected to be implemented immediately in the next academic year.
This event ended with a closing by the Chair of the Informatics Engineering Education Study Program, who expressed his commitment to continue developing this study program in accordance with the results of discussions and input from various parties. “We are grateful for the participation and contribution of all parties. “Hopefully the vision we have formulated today can bring the Informatics Engineering Education Study Program to become more advanced and competitive,” he concluded.
By formulating this new scientific vision, it is hoped that the Informatics Engineering Education Study Program can be increasingly superior in producing graduates who are ready to face global challenges in the field of information technology. (an)
