Singaraja – To orient new students, the Informatics Education study program held a joint prayer for Hindus at Parahyangan (a specific religious place for Hindus to pray) on Undiksha, Saturday (3/9/22).
After participating in various series of PKKMB (Student Orientation Event) activities from the university level to the department level, new students will face the real world of lectures. Before the lecture process takes place, the Informatics Education study program holds an orientation for new students. The orientation begins with praying together with staff, lecturers, and students. This prayer activity was carried out to welcome new students to the Informatics Education study program.
“We start this orientation activity by praying together for Hindus. Meanwhile, we directed those of other religions to wait around the campus. The goal is to ask for safety for the Informatics Education extended family in every activity or event that is carried out,” said the chairman of the committee.
After performing the prayers, there was the socialization of the introduction of lecturers, the introduction of academic supervisors, the socialization of ethics for students and lecturers, and the introduction of social media for Informatics Education.
The chairman of the committee, P. Wayan Arta Suyasa, S.Pd., M.Pd. explained that this activity was aimed at accelerating the adaptation of new students. “We carry out this orientation in a simple way with the concept of family. The goal is that new students are comfortable and can adapt quickly so that the lecture process can run well later, “explained Artha Suyasa who is also one of the lecturers at PTI.
Various directions are given by academic supervisors to new students to prepare themselves before starting lectures. 107 new students participated happily in the orientation activity. At the end of the session, new students are invited to take a campus tour to find out the location of lectures, laboratories, lecturer rooms, academic rooms, and other places that will be the location of student activities on campus.
