Singaraja, September 12, 2020 – The Faculty of Engineering and Vocational Studies at Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) successfully held the 2020 Introduction to the Faculty of Engineering and Vocational Studies event online via the Zoom platform. This event marked an important moment for the 2020 batch of new students to get acquainted with the faculty environment, especially the Department of Informatics Engineering.
The event began with the attendance check of new students and invited guests, followed by the official opening ceremony. The Indonesian national anthem, “Indonesia Raya,” and the Undiksha Mars were sung with enthusiasm, accompanied by a prayer recitation. In his report, the Head of the Committee explained that the event aimed to provide new students with a comprehensive overview of the faculty and its departments.
The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Vocational Studies delivered a welcoming speech, offering motivation and congratulations to the new students. He also emphasized the crucial role of the departments, particularly Informatics Engineering, as a dynamic and innovative component of the faculty.
The highlight of the event was the introduction to the department. During this session, new students were introduced to the Informatics Engineering Department environment, covering its organizational structure, study programs, and facilities supporting academic activities. Students also received detailed information about the advantages of the Informatics Engineering programs, such as Information Systems, Informatics Engineering Education, Computer Science, and Information Management. Lecturers from the department also introduced themselves and shared insights on the promising prospects in information technology. Additionally, students were shown various innovations and achievements of the department, including participation in national and international technology competitions.
A question-and-answer session at the end of the event allowed new students to delve deeper into topics related to the Informatics Engineering Department. Various questions regarding study programs, career opportunities, and laboratory facilities were enthusiastically addressed by department representatives. Despite being conducted online, the 2020 Introduction to the Faculty of Engineering and Vocational Studies event ran smoothly. New students, especially those in the Informatics Engineering Department, were expected to feel more prepared and motivated to embark on their academic journey.
