Malaysia, Delegation from the Department of Information Technology Education, Faculty of Engineering and Vocational Education, comprising Dr. phil. Dessy Seri Wahyuni, S.Kom., M.Eng., and I Ketut Andika Pradnyana, S.Pd., M.Pd., embarked on a visit to Malaysia from April 24th to 26th, 2024. The primary focus of their activities was to initiate collaborations and conduct Visiting Lectures at two renowned campuses in Malaysia.
On the first day, they engaged in crucial collaboration initiation with Sultan Idris Education University (UPSI), particularly with the Faculty of Technology and Computational Meta. The session, led by Associate Professor Dr. -Ing. Maizatul Hayati Binti Mohamad Yatim, the Dean, and attended by several faculty members from the Faculty of Computer and Meta Technology, aimed at fostering joint research and teaching endeavors to enhance the quality of education and research in the field of information technology. This collaboration also aimed to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The following day, they continued their collaboration agenda by conducting Visiting Lectures at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), specifically in the Department of Electrical Engineering. The topics presented by Dr. Dessy and Mr. Andika, “Vocational Pedagogy in Digitalized Education” and “3D Animation for Multimedia Learning,” were carefully chosen to ensure their relevance and benefits to students while supporting SDGs, particularly in improving access to quality education.
Following the successful Visiting Lecture sessions, the faculty members proceeded with a Campus Tour to gain a deeper understanding of the learning and teaching environments at both institutions. This activity aimed to deepen their understanding of the education systems at each campus and foster closer relationships between the two educational institutions, in line with SDGs.
With the collaboration established between UPSI, UiTM, and other represented universities by the two faculty members from the Department of Information Technology Education, it is hoped that a strong synergy will be created in the development of knowledge and education in the field of information technology, contributing to the achievement of SDGs in the future.
