Jinengdalem, Ganesha University of Education – On Wednesday, August 20, 2024, the Informatics Engineering Student Association (HMJ TI) of Undiksha held the opening of the Infinity Orientation Time (IOT) event at the Indoor Tennis Court in Jinengdalem, Undiksha. IOT is an introductory period to life in the Informatics Engineering Department, aimed at familiarizing new students with life within the department.

The IOT event began with attendance checks for the new students, followed by enforcement of the event’s code of conduct. Afterward, the opening ceremony proceeded with the singing of the Indonesian national anthem “Indonesia Raya,” the Undiksha anthem, the HMJ TI anthem, and a prayer. The IOT event was officially opened with a report by the Head of the Committee, Gede Ngurah Dananjaya Kajeng, and a welcoming speech by the Head of the Informatics Engineering Department, Dr. Putu Hendra Suputra, S. Kom., M. Cs., followed by the symbolic gong strike three times.

Following the opening ceremony, the next activity was the introduction of the structure of the Informatics Engineering Department, led by Dr. Putu Hendra Suputra, S. Kom., M. Cs. This was followed by the introduction of the various study programs under the Informatics Engineering Department, each guided by the respective program coordinators. During this session, the Coordinator of the Informatics Engineering Education Program, Dr. phil. Dessy Seri Wahyuni, S. Kom., M. Eng., presented information on the curriculum, the academic vision, and the mission of the program. This session was attended by the entire faculty staff and the new students of the Informatics Engineering Department.

The event, with the theme UTOPIA: “Unity To Perfect In One Amaze Movement,” was attended by 355 new students from four different study programs under the Informatics Engineering Department. This event aimed to introduce the Informatics Engineering Department to the new students. Through the UTOPIA theme, the organizing committee hoped to strengthen the relationships and solidarity among the new students, inspiring them to work together toward achieving their dreams at Undiksha.
