Singaraja – Another achievement was made by an Informatics Education student. Not only in the academic field, this time the achievement was achieved in the field of arts at the Indonesian Student Group Vocal Singing Competition held by FPK (Forum Pembauran Kebangsaan Nasional) on Thursday (18/8/22).
This event is held online by sending videos following predetermined requirements. Participants are required to bring the Mars “Wawasan Kebangsaan” song and the selected songs that have been listed by the committee. A student on behalf of I Gusti Ayu Gita Dewi Mahewari who is a member of the FTK Vocal Group won 2nd place at the national level. I Gusti Ayu Gita Dewi Mahewari conveyed that the songs sung were packaged according to the diversity of the archipelago. “Our selected song that we brought was the song “Tanah Airku” where we improvised this song with the characteristics of each region in Indonesia, especially in Bali. We improvised the song with kidungan, and other tones and sounds that can make our chosen song feel alive and not monotonous,” explained Gita, a 3rd-semester student of PTI (29/8/22).
Gita, who came from Karangasem said that the competition preparation took 1 month from practice to recording. The preparation was also guided by professional people. Furthermore, Gita expressed the joy that emanated from her smile when the achievement was confirmed. “Honestly, I didn’t expect to get an award of this magnitude where for the first time I succeeded in bringing the name of the Faculty, namely the Faculty of Engineering and Vocational together with the name of my beloved University, Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha, where it turned out that this team represented Buleleng district in this competition. I am very proud of myself and my team who have fought so hard and finally been able to bring the victory that we have been working for”, she added.
As a student of Informatics Education, while focusing on lectures, Gita wants to continue to hone her singing skills. “Of course, I want to focus on lectures, while honing my skills by participating in competitions on campus first,” she concluded.
