Singaraja – The Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kemenkominfo) held “Digital Literacy in Vocational High Schools (SMK)” in the Province of Bali, on 5-8 June 2023. The activity was carried out in a hybrid manner with 100 students participating offline and 200 students online via zoom meeting for each school.
This activity aims to provide counseling to SMK students about the appropriate and positive use of technology, so that they can participate and adapt to changes in digitalization in schools. By capitalizing on digital skills, students can optimize the use of technology and avoid its negative impacts.
The Ministry of Communication and Informatics together with RTIK Bali province invited several speakers from Pandu Digital, RTIK Bali and several lecturers from the Ganesha University of Education. One of the Informatics Engineering Education lecturers who was involved as a resource person was Nyoman Sugihartini, S.Pd., M.Pd.
Nyoman Sugihartini explained that ethical and cultured skills can avoid the negative impacts of the digital world “It is important for us to acquire ethical and cultured understanding and skills in order to avoid the negative impacts of the digital world. There are many opportunities that we can take advantage of, but we must be careful to adapt to the changes that are happening in digital transformation.” explained Sugihartini (6/6/2023).
The digital world has become an inseparable part of our lives. Realizing this, it is important for us to make the digital world a cultured environment. As a place for learning and interaction, the digital world plays an important role in children’s development and is also a place where we all attend in a dignified manner. (an)
