Singaraja, August 19, 2021 – The Informatics Engineering Student Association (HMJ TI) of Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha), under the 2021/2022 administration, successfully organized the Orientation to the Department Life (OKJ) program online. The event aimed to introduce campus life, departmental structure, and HMJ programs to the 2021 cohort of new students.
The event, attended by committee members, faculty, and participants, began at 08.00 WITA. Initial attendance was recorded via Google Forms, followed by the official opening ceremony. The Indonesian national anthem, “Indonesia Raya,” Undiksha’s anthem, and the Informatics Engineering HMJ anthem were performed, accompanied by a prayer. Opening speeches were delivered by the Head of the Committee, the Chairperson of HMJ TI for 2021/2022, and the Head of the Informatics Engineering Department.
The event continued with an introduction to the departmental structure. This included introductions to the department secretary, student affairs advisors, program coordinators, and lecturers from various study programs under the Informatics Engineering Department, such as Information Systems, Informatics Engineering Education, Computer Science, and Information Management. Each lecturer presented engaging materials related to their respective programs.
The following session provided new students with a general lecture on academic regulations, including dress codes, procedures for contacting lecturers, preparing course plans (KRS), and utilizing the e-learning platform. This session proved invaluable in helping students navigate the academic process.
After a lunch break, the program resumed at 12.30 WITA with an introduction to HMJ Informatics Engineering. The committee showcased competitive activities such as participation in the Gemastik, KRTI, and KRSRI competitions. Additionally, the introduction of various HMJ-related communities inspired new students to engage actively in organizational activities.
The HMJ TI work programs were also presented by the coordinators and the chairperson. These included upcoming activities, HMJ administration details such as membership fees, and the creation of organizational attributes. A Q&A session at the end allowed students to clarify their queries.
The event, which concluded at 15.10 WITA, ended with a final attendance check and a virtual clean-up activity led by the committee. Despite being held online, the entire program ran smoothly and received positive feedback from participants.
The OKJ TI 2021 event is expected to serve as a solid foundation for new students in understanding the academic and organizational environment of the Informatics Engineering Department at Undiksha.
