Gianyar – A total of 3 Informatics Engineering Education students from the International Class on behalf of Nanditha, Wisma, and Sapta were involved in the Diversity Voyage program in Bali organized by GiFT (Global Incubation x Fostering Talents). This program is the result of collaboration with Toyo University, Japan, which focuses on Global Citizenship Education and aims to provide opportunities for students to explore diversity and have academic discussions with students from abroad. This activity will take place in Ubud from 21 to 26 April 2024.
This program has paved the way towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) through their participation in the “Diversity Voyage” program with Toyo University in Japan. This program not only provides valuable learning experiences for students, but also contributes to several SDGs set by the UN. One of the SDGs emphasized in this program is SDG 4: Quality Education. By attending a variety of academic and cultural activities, students have the opportunity to broaden their understanding of cultural diversity and global citizenship education. This helps in forming a generation that is more culturally aware and more open to differences.
One of the main activities in this event is “Mana Earthly Paradise,” where all activities are carried out with environmentally friendly principles. Students are invited to visit a chopstick recycling site, where chopsticks that are usually used once are recycled into various new items, such as laptop stands, cutting boards, and even stack games made from used chopsticks.
