The Department of Information Technology Education, Faculty of Engineering and Vocational Education, Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha), successfully organized a series of inspiring events from November 26 to 29, 2024, featuring an international speaker, Dr. Erni Marlina binti Saari, Senior Lecturer and researcher from Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), Malaysia.
The event started on the first day, November 26, 2024, with a visit from Dr. Erni and Mr. Zamri from UPSI to Undiksha. During the visit, Dr. Erni and Mr. Zamri took a tour of the campus, accompanied by Dr. phil. Dessy Seri Wahyuni, S.Kom., M.Eng. Her visit to Undiksha brought new enthusiasm to strengthen cooperation in the fields of education, research, and innovation between Undiksha and UPSI.
On Thursday, November 28, 2024, the Information Technology Education Department held a Sharing Session with the theme “Keynotes on Educational Software Development” in the Microteaching Room at the FTK Jineng Dalem campus. The event was attended by students, lecturers, and members of the FTK Study Club, who were eager to explore various innovations in educational software development. During the session, Dr. Erni emphasized the importance of educational software in creating inclusive and effective learning, while also supporting the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education.
In addition to the Sharing Session, Dr. Erni also participated in two Joint Teaching sessions. The first session was held in the course of Learning Strategies and Design, attended by third-semester students. In this session, Dr. Erni shared insights on developing technology-based learning. The second session was in the Graphic Design course, focusing on the application of design in the development of educational software.
On Friday, November 29, 2024, the Department of Information Technology Education held another Consultation Session with the theme “Trace Your Research Creative Idea: Making Your Research Creative Idea,” aimed at helping students and participants of the 2024 Pre-service Teacher Professional Program (PPG) to develop creative research ideas. Dr. Erni guided participants in designing relevant and impactful research. At the end of the event, Dr. Erni was presented with a certificate as a form of appreciation for her contributions to the event.
This event demonstrated the commitment of the Information Technology Education Department at Undiksha in supporting the integration of technology with education and the academic development of students. Through this initiative, it is hoped that students and academics will continue to innovate and produce research and educational software that provides a positive impact on education in Indonesia. (al)
