Singaraja – Informatics Education Study Program held an article writing workshop for students. This activity was held in the IKI (International Class Initiation) classroom on Friday, August 12, 2022.
I Nyoman Indhi Wiradika, M.Pd. said that this workshop was carried out in a hybrid way. “We carried out this article writing workshop in a hybrid way. Many students want to participate offline but they are constrained by the distance because they are still in their hometowns. So, we initiated carrying out this workshop in a hybrid way. Some students came directly to the campus and others participated through zoom meetings,” said Indhi as the Chair of the Committee (12/8/22).
This workshop was attended by the Coordinator of the Informatics Education Study Program as well as officially opened the event. PTI Corporate, Dr. Phil., Dessy Seri Wahyuni, M.Eng. explained that this workshop aims to provide new knowledge for students. Making articles to get published in national or international journals is very important. “As a student who has many creative ideas, they should learn to write scientifically so that their writings can be published. The writings are expected to be useful for the people who read them. Moreover, one of the outcomes of the Informatics Education Study Program is to become a researcher, so the students must understand the technicalities and how to write articles,” said Dessy.
The workshop was carried out in two stages. The first stage is briefing students about the format and criteria for articles in international seminars and proceedings. This briefing activity was handled by Ni Nyoman Sugihartini, S.Pd., M.Pd. as the chairman of Iconvet in 2022. In the second phase, an article writing workshop was held. This activity invited one presenter, namely Dr. Ketut Agustini, S.Si., M.Sc. The material is about how to make articles worthy of submission to international journals, starting from making titles to bibliography, and explaining the use of Mendeley. Furthermore, in this activity, there was also a review agenda of students’ articles.
After the presentation of the material, the award certificates were handed over to the two speakers by the chairman of the committee. I Nyoman Indhi Wiradika, M.Pd. as the chairman of the committee hopes that this workshop can help students in their final project. “This article writing workshop is expected to have article outputs that are ready to be published at international conferences or proceedings. In addition, it is hoped that the article writing workshop can help students develop articles for their final assignments,” said Indhi (an)
